Ontario Sailor Magazine is published by Windward Communication Inc., a private company based in Courtice, Ontario. The company is involved in the publishing of community newspapers, consumer magazines and newsletters for various private and public companies.

Ontario Sailor Magazine is a full-colour, glossy consumer magazine which began publishing in June 1998. Seven issues of the magazine are produced annually. The cover dates are as follows: January/February, March, April, May, June/July, August/September and Fall (October).

Ontario Sailor Magazine is mailed to subscribers in Canada and the USA and is available on leading newsstands across Canada. Some of the magazines are also sent to yacht clubs and marinas through a controlled-distribution process.

Ontario Sailor Magazine circulates 8,000 copies per issue throughout Ontario, Quebec, and the Great Lake states in the northern USA . The bulk of the circulation is in Ontario although there is a wider reach to the magazine for the benefit of advertisers. The editorial content deals with the sailing scene in the Great Lakes basin in Canada and the USA .
